Doll of The Day - Kio

Kio
Kio was the first Neko I made he came before The Pink Kitty not by much. He was also the first home made with I made. He is only 21cm tall a little small to be a 1/6 Scale. His face my not have much detail on it but it's the rest of him that I put all the work into.

I had seen on the Obitsu site the Neko ears and they were always out of stock finally when they came into stock I bought a bunch of them. There stock photo shows they are unpainted and yellow, not true when you get them unpainted they are white. Which at first I was a bit disappointed at first but it was no big deal just meant I had to paint them. Now Obitsu does have a Neko head you are supposed to buy to go with the ears. I didn't I bought a regular head.  I took my small scissors and cut into his small head to make holes. Then I looked at the head and thought what am I to do about hair? I had gotten some curly doll hair and looked on YouTube under making doll wigs. That's how I learnt to make a wig cap.
Here is a link to the tutorial I used. I find wood glue works the best. From there I took hair I had in a bag that was really curly and the I took a curl or two and cut them off and glued the loose ends. let them dry (important: use the same glue as on the wig cap) once a bunch of them were dry I clipped the ends with the glue to make them Straight and pretty. From there I glued them on onto the wig cap. Finally after almost a day of hard work the wig is done. Now that is want I do with most wigs his I also cut holes into the hard wig cap and glued the hair on around It.
The final part was making his clothes. They are all hand sewn homemade patterns. So that is the story of Kio and how how came to be. His doll Birthday is October 4th 2012. He is for sale for $90 He is a really cute doll and fits in your pocket.

Doll of The Day - Hippie Girl

Hippie
Another reborn Barbie I compleated. Never really had a name so Hippie Girl is what has been sticking. What was done to her was simple but time consuming. Being an old barbie that was lost and forgotten about, I started this project with the removing of the hair. I was going to reroot her hair then I decided that I had an extra wig that was the right size for the doll. placing that on her head and then painting her face and giving her a lazy eye. The sewing her outfit and she was done. I used a old key chain to make into a belt, and braided the back of her hair. She is not much but I like her. Date of completion May 1st 2012

Doll of The Day - Snow Queen Wendy

Wendy
Original photo of doll when new

One of my first fully reborn dolls. When I was a child I collected the Sailor Moon dolls. I had them for years but like all things from my childhood ended up in a box. One day in cleaning up I found my old Sailor Neptune doll. At the time her hair was ruined and her body was dirty and just ruined. I felt bad but I saw the opportunity to give her a new life. I took her into the house and washed her body cut and remove all her hair.
From there I removed all the paint on her face. Once she was striped down to a blank doll, that's when the  new life began. Rooting the hair took about 20 hours over the course of 3 days I used white because I thought it would be interesting, also I wanted to do a winter theme. I based her eyes on the Anime style. That was partly to get practice (I have never been good with drawing Anime eyes) and to go with the style that was already used before.
Once the face and hair was done there was the question of what to do with the holes in her head where her tiara was meant to be. That's when I gave her the curls. Then I gave her the real earnings that' I glued in so they would stay. Her hairstyle was my own idea with the large braid on the top.

She stayed like this for awhile. Just a painted finished head on a nude body with no name. It took me a few weeks to finally come up with the outfit I wanted for her.
Now being of this style of doll body she doesn't move much her arms and legs only go up and down so it was hard to dress her in just any doll clothes. So I looked through all my extra materials trying to find something. Then I based her outfit on a Ancient Chinese HanFu. A day later her outfit was done all hand stitched and ready to go. I folded the dress around her and tied the belt. But it didn't seem to fit right something was missing. So I took some wool and braided it using it as a decco for her belt like a Obijime.
Once she was done I still had no name for her. It took time but being winter I thought of Snow Queen. It was months later that my Mother started calling her Wendy.  She is now 1-4 dolls in my seasons collection. The date of her full completion was December 18th 2011.

The outfit that inspired me.

Doll of The Day - Pink Kitty

Pink Kitty- Never had a real name for this doll she was made and sold so fast I never got use to her. She was an experiment that went well. She is a on 1/6th Scale Obitsu medium bust doll. I made her wig so it would work around her cat ears. The ears were hand painted by me along with her face. I custom made he hands, feet and tail. Outfit is hand sewn. She was made to look like a cute cat girl. She was sold on Nov 26th 2012 which would put her birthday somewhere in the beginning of November 2012. the only problem I had with her was her tail kept breaking and her feet parts shrunk when I baked them. Her parts were made out of Polymer Clay.  I did make new parts for her before she was sold but after the pictures were taken. I liked her but I am glad she found a home where she is loved and cared for.  She is the only one like her I have made but she has encouraged me to make more.

Doll Of The Day - Kenpachi Zaraki

Kenpachi Zaraki
Based on Captain Kenpachi from the anime Bleach. When I was ordering my doll parts I thought to myself what would be a cool doll to have. He is a 1/6 scale Obitsu realistic body. Then I thought of him. 3 days of rooting hair at this time I didn't have much experience on rooting hair that I learnt how to do on a YouTube tutorial (Just search 'how to root doll hair').
It is harder to do when you don't have a pattern on his head. Once the rooting was done it was then the styling. Gel worked the best on his synthetic hair. Finding bells for his hair was next to impossible so I went with glass beads, they are super glued on. His head didn't have eye holes so I cut and made incisions so I could place 6mm Brown Oval eyes. From there I finished the face up. Once the face was all painted it was on to hand sewing the outfit. 4 Piece outfit 1. Under Kimono White. 2. Black Top Kimono. 3. Black Hakama (bottoms) 4. White Captains robe. All hand sewn by me. His sword was the next hard part. It is made of two chopsticks, the sheath is made out of the pointed end of the chopstick wrapped a strip of paper glued. Then the top part is another pointed end cut down the middle painted with nail polish. it is glued to the handle and the gold wrapped twist tie. The handle is one fourth of the chopstick. and it took about an hour to twist and hand drill the handle through his fist. In the end it was worth it.
He is a great addition to my collection.Birthdate of doll December 1st 2011  He is For Sale Taking offers only. Below are stock photos from Obitsu of what he looked like when I received him.

Doll of The Day Calista Starlight

 Calista Starlight
Calista is not the official second doll but she is close to it. She is again a 1/6 Scale Obitsu. She has large breasts.  Below are what she looked like when I ordered her, they are Obitsu stock images. I didn't want to paint Anime eyes on her so I tried to do something different. She was named after another OC of mine Who is the Greek Goddess of Starlight. Her Tattoo says Calista Statlight in greek, the entire size of the Tattoo is 1cm it was meant to look like a twinkling star. So I painted her face and designed her dress all hand sewn, no patten. her wig is a size 4.5 long platinum blonde wavy wig. Birth Date is September 8th 2011.
Shes is not For Sale because she is currently going under an up grade.
